At Raising Futures Kenya, Uganda we believe cycles of poverty and inequality can be broken with access to quality education, skills training and wellbeing support. 

Since 2001 we have worked in partnership with  NGOs on delivering their community-led programmes. Their Seed of Hope programme provides free vocational training, business skills and wellbeing support for children and young people aged 14-25, particularly girls, in marginalized communities in Kenya and Uganda. 

With the skills, qualifications and confidence gained from Seed of Hope, 75% of graduates gain employment or start a small business within 6 months of completing their course.

 

The Power of Education

In Kenya, high school is not free. Over 3.5 million children are not in school due to poverty, drought, lack of accessibility and cultural practices. WE ARE ON A MISSION TO GIVE ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION AND KEEP THESE STUDENTS IN SCHOOL. By providing Kenyan youth with access to quality education, Kenya Education Fund tackles one of the root causes of poverty, gender-based violence, and injustice. We support students who are financially underprivileged, many of whom will not go to school without financial support, successfully transitioning 98% of them from high school to university. KEF serves all people; regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.

Education for boys

Education for boys like Sawa protects them from child labor, gender-based violence, crime, and cattle rustling, breaking the cycle of poverty and opening doors to a brighter future.

Education for girls

For girls like Silvia & Bridget, education is life-changing. It shields them from early marriage, teenage pregnancy, and gender-based violence, empowering them to contribute to society with confidence and resilience.
